Via Park III and Via Park V are the nearest commercial centres and easily reached within 5-10 minutes walk. Both have a range of bars and restaurants to choose from.
A number of others are more like 15-20 minutes on foot, such as La Florida.
Either a longer walk - or more realistically a 5-10 minute car journey - you have the likes of the renowned Villamartin Plaza, Flamenca Beach Commercial Centre, Cabo Roig strip and many, many more places to choose from and of course Torreveieja is only 10-15 minutes away with even more places to choose from.
There are so many beaches to choose from and nearly all are Blue Flag.
The nearest beach is Punta Prima and is 5 mins by car or 20+ mins walk. However, within Orihuela Costa and Torrevieja and further north to places like Guardamar there are a wide range of beaches to choose from.
Some are your bigger beaches which are a lot more vibrant and have lots going on, others are smaller and a bit more secluded and relaxed, so you can choose one to suit.
La Zenia Boulevard - 10 minutes by car - is the largest shopping centre in the Alicante province and there is a wide range of shops - brands such as Primark, Zara, C&A, Decathlon, H&M and Mango to name a few.
Even if shopping isn't your thing then there are plenty of places to eat and drink, a cinema, bowling alley and play area for young children, so you can easily spend the whole day there.
The Habeneras Shopping Centre in Torrevieja is also another popular shopping centre and again no more than 10-15 minutes by car.
There are water parks in Torrevieja and Rojales (typically only in the summer).
Further afield in Benidorm you have a number of attractions such as Terra Mitica theme park while closer to home you have go-karting and an excellent crazy golf course as well as all of the beach-based activities you might expect and the 2 swimming pools you can use that are both just 50m away.
Home to many, many championship golf courses, the Costa Blanca and Murcia region is a golfers' paradise. Those nearest to the apartment include Villamartin, Los Ramblas, Campoamor, La Finca and Vistabella but within 30-60 minutes there are too many to list, including the 3 courses at the world-famous La Manga Club.
Various local bars (Lime Bar @ Via Park III, Phoenix Bar @ Via Park V and Jessie's Bar in Los Balcones to name a few) have golf societies so if you are looking for a round then make contact and whether they have an event planned or just a casual round, it may be possible to join them.
If you like to experience the local culture then there are plenty of options. Torrevieja is just 10-15 minutes away and is a traditional Spanish town that is popular with the Spanish - for whom this is a popular holiday destination - as well as people from all over Europe and beyond.
On a smaller scale there is San Miguel Da Salinas and Orihuela which are both a short drive and very easy to get to and well worth a visit to experience the local culture and cuisine.
If you like to visit larger cities then Murcia is about 45-50 minutes away and Cartegena is about 60-70 minutes away. Further north, most people think of Alicante purely for the airport but it is a historical, beautiful town in its own right and well worth a day out, especially around the harbour area.
And don't forget that Benidorm while mostly famed for it's tackier side has a quieter, refined and cultural side to it and is also only a little over an hour away and offers a range of attractions for all the family.
